What is a Backing Roll Cleaner for?
In the coating, laminating and printing industries, contamination collects on compliant back-up rolls and causes expensive product waste.
Polymag Tek has developed a unique cleaner which removes this contamination on-line.
The Polymag Tek Backing Roll Cleaner utilizes our Polymag® Blue Contact Cleaning Roll (CCR) technology to remove contamination from process rollers.
The tacky surface of the polymer-covered CCR picks off particle contamination.
Operation
The Backing Roll Cleaner uses a small CCR mounted to a traversing assembly.
The small CCR is pivoted into contact with spinning process roll and then moved across its length, picking up the loose contamination along the way.
At the completion of each cycle, the CCR returns to a position where it can be easily removed and cleaned off-line.
There are no electrical components in the cleaning head assembly, so the Backing Roll Cleaner can be safely installed in a solvent environment.
